An event agenda that took hours out of publishing
A custom WordPress agenda plugin, CSV import, and multisite support for Rackspace::Solve. Agenda entry time fell from eight hours to two.
The situation
The event team needed to manage a changing program and present it clearly to visitors. Manually entering the agenda took eight hours, making the publishing process a substantial part of preparing an event.
What the project covered
The project covered the Rackspace::Solve website build and a custom agenda plugin, plus the publishing handover: how-to guides that let the team manage the site themselves.
The implementation
Bring the program into WordPress
A custom plugin and CSV import brought structured event information into the agenda, inside the website's existing publishing workflow.
Support more than one site
The plugin was extended to WordPress multisite, so the same agenda capability ran across event sites.
Leave a usable handover
How-to guides documented the publishing workflow, so the marketing team could run the site without developer help.
